Eclair
ABOUT
Our meal at the Eclair pop-up at The Spindle Kitchen was a great way to end 2018. Eclair is a pop-up by Alex Bolar, a former alum of one of my favorite restaurants that closed late last year, Better Half. Although I have only been to one of his pop-ups, I always take a look at the menus and the cuisine is different each time. We had authentic, yet elevated Mexican cuisine, which we loved! The week before we had this meal, we had just eaten at Cala in San Francisco and were craving that type of elevated Mexican cuisine. Alex delivered in a big way! There is nothing like it in Atlanta. And I couldn’t believe how affordable it was either for the quantity and quality that we were getting.
Outside of pop-ups at The Spindle Kitchen, Alex has his own pop-up that serves a six-course tasting menu. You can make reservations on Tock. I have yet to try this, but hope to soon!
Occasionally, Alex also hosts Wing Wednesday’s at The Spindle Kitchen, including vegan cauliflower wings! I hope to check this out next time it happens.
FAVORITES
We honestly loved every dish we ordered, so including them all here: black bean sope, corn bread with jalapeño honey butter, brisket huarache, & the toasted almond tres leches.
