LAPEER SEAFOOD MARKET
LIKELY
ABOUT
Lapeer Seafood Market is the latest addition to Downtown Alpharetta. It’s not your traditional brunch spot as most of the dishes are seafood-focused, but if you don’t like sweet dishes for brunch then this is the place for you. We went for Father’s Day with a party of seven and were seated in the sunroom (pictured above), which is a beautiful space but can get extremely hot. We were constantly drinking sweet tea and water to cool us down. So just make sure you notate where you want to sit on your reservation.
The space is absolutely beautiful and the service was pretty good as well. It did take them over 30 minutes to send out our main courses after finishing the appetizers, which was unfortunate. However, we enjoyed the majority of our dishes. For the most part, the dishes are easily shareable. There are a few non-seafood items as well (e.g., Ribeye Sandwich).
This is going to be a pricey meal unless you skip the appetizer and share your mains, so just be warned! Also, don’t forget to walk across the street to Valor Coffee for a cup of their Vanilla Cardamom Latte. If you’re too lazy, Lapeer serves East Pole Coffee which isn’t a bad alternative.
WHAT TO ORDER
For a party of two, I would recommend (1) starter & (2) mains. My favorite dishes include…
Drinks - Sweet Tea - with unlimited refills
Sweet Dishes - N/A
Savory Dishes - Smoked Salmon Platter, Crab Salad & Shrimp Risotto (Sunday Special).
For the smoked salmon platter, the waiter told us it feeds two people but it only came with one bagel, which was slightly irritating since the dish was $27. They make the bagel in house and don’t get me wrong it was a darn good bagel but $27 is a big price to pay, even if the smoked salmon was delicious.
I wouldn’t order the tuna tartine (didn’t realize the tuna was cold) or the romaine salad (not a fan of anchovies / too basic for $14) again.
