B-Side is the latest addition to Downtown Decatur, taking over the former Cakes and Ale space along with its parent restaurant the Deer & the Dove. This was probably my first time having wood-fired bagels, or if I’ve had it I didn’t realize it. You can choose to add schmears, eggs, smoked salmon and more to your bagels. The bagels tasted great but were a bit on the smaller side for me. I was still hungry after. I think if I lived in the area, I would likely stop by often and get some work done in the cafe. But since I don’t, the chances of me going back are slim.

In addition to bagels, schmears + add-ons they also serve Counter Culture coffee, Rishi Tea & some other items.

We weren’t a fan of the focaccia sandwich. The vegetables were great, but the bread was a little tough, cold and needed some work. The bread to vegetable ratio was off and the chef even mentioned that.
