BUTTERMILK KITCHEN

ABOUT
If you can’t tell from the name, Buttermilk Kitchen is known for its southern-style brunch, including made from scratch biscuits. The biscuits are served with the most addicting pepper jelly. Each biscuit is almost the size of your face, so don’t over order like we did! I recently went to Buttermilk Kitchen after a year hiatus. Last time the wait was insanely long. We waited for 1.5 hours for a party of five. But this time we went around 2:00 pm (an hour before closing) and barely waited five minutes for a table. So I think that will be my strategy going forward.
They also recently renovated to add a bar at the front of the restaurant, which seems to be first come/first serve but also serves drinks while you wait. If you like their fried chicken then they also have a “Fancy” Fried Chicken Dinner once a month, so check it out and let me know if it’s worth it!
WHAT TO ORDER
For a party of two, I would recommend (1) side of biscuit to share & (2) mains. My favorite dishes include:
Drinks: Orange Juice (fresh-squeezed)
Sweet Dishes: Biscuits with Pepper Jelly
Savory Dishes: Fried Chicken Biscuit, Truffled Potatoes & Sautéed Kale
We also ordered the vegan cereal bowl (chia seed pudding). I thought it was good, but a little too much granola. You should know, that I have strong opinions on chia seed pudding after having the best one ever at Star Provisions. Either way if you want something healthy go for the vegan bowl!
