10 Halloween-ish Foodie Events in Atlanta
I’ve never been into Halloween and to quote someone from NextDoor “Anyone else feel like Halloween is unnecessary this year? I’ve been wearing a mask and eating candy for 7 months now, and I don’t think I need a day dedicate to it anymore…”.
Regardless of my feelings on Halloween I can get behind good food! Not all of the activities are “Halloween-themed” but I’ve had food from all the places I’m sharing so at least you can eat some good food in costume? Here is a little something for everyone (click on the links for easier scrollability)…
For the Late Night Crew
For Good Food & Costumes
For Delicious Pop-Ups
For the Family and/or for the (very) Socially-Distanced Space
FYI - There are a lot more events going on but since I haven’t tried their food, I don’t feel comfortable sharing.

- an outdoor scary movie theater.

Little Cher (aka Little Bear)
Summerhill on 10/31 from 5pm - 9pm
For one night only the team at Little Bear will channel all things Cher. Cher costumes, Cher music, and more!
Order ahead via Toast or in person. Although Little Bear is only open for take-out, they have two outdoor tables and Summerhill has set up picnic tables around the neighborhood so you can continue to channel your inner-Cher and enjoy our food.
Read more here about my experience at Little Bear.
Southern Belle x Georgia Boy
Poncey Highlands from 10/30 - 11/1
Southern Belle x Georgia Boy is the concept from former Gunshow chef Joey Ward. Southern Belle (the more casual concept) is currently on holiday while Georgia Boy (5 or 7 course tasting menu) takes over the space. However, you can still enjoy the Southern Belle “at home” menu or brunch.
This weekend, if you show up in costume for dine-in they will throw in an a la carte dessert on them! Did you ever think you’d be able to enjoy a tasting menu in costume? Well now you can!
They offer both indoor and patio dining and are taking all the safety precautions. They have installed Bi-Polar Ionization Systems for fresh air-driven HVAC that eliminates 99.4% of viral material.

Talat Market
Summerhill on 10/31 from 5pm - 9pm

One of my favorite Thai restaurants in Atlanta is giving out treats for all ages and will have a special menu to allow for people to snack and sip on the go. They are also having a costume contest - winner gets a $50 gift certificate!

For Delicious Pop-Ups…
Bakey Bakes Frankencookies Pop-Up
East Atlanta - Flash Sale on 10/30 at 9 am for pickup from 1-8pm
Larissa of Bakey Bakes will be posting a flash sale for her famous Frankencookies & her Oreo Stuffed Chocolate Chip Cookies. She is making a total of 500 (in packs of 6 or 12) and I have no doubt that they will sell out in minutes.
I tried the Frankencookies for the first time in October of 2018 and they were truly unique. The cookies for sale will include:
Kaiju - Matcha/Black Sesame (pictured) || Fantasma - Ube/Thai Tea (pictured) || Nosferatu - Black Velvet/Red Velvet || Oreo Stuffed Chocolate Chip Cookies
Follow @bakey.bakes on Instagram and turn on “Post Notifications” and “Story Notifications” so that you will be notified as soon as they go on sale. Good Luck!
Kamayan Halo-Halo Ween!
Pick-up in Kirkwood on 10/31 or 11/1 from 1-4pm only
Kamayan, everyone’s favorite and Atlanta’s original Filipino pop-up, is having a special a la carte menu for Halloween. In addition to Halo-Halo (a dessert with 20 different components) they will also have several other sweet (Ube Flan Cake) & savory (Garlic Rice, BBQ & more) items (see their stories on Instagram).
They plan to release details on the night of 10/29 so give them a follow on Instagram to stay up to date on the sale. Their food usually sells out very fast, so act quickly!
Osono Bread - Pan de Muerto Boxes
UPDATE - SOLD OUT
Order ASAP for pick-up in Summerhill on 11/1 from 3-5pm
I just placed an order for these and apparently they are almost sold out. So act fast. For one weekend only, Osono Bread will be offering a box of four pan de muerto pastries including traditional, chocolate, hibiscus and sesame flavors. It sounded so good, I couldn’t resist!
Check out her Instagram for more details.
The Plate Sale Pop-Up
at Staplehouse on 10/31 from 3pm - 7pm
Back in July we drove out to Athens to try The Plate Sale’s breakfast pop-up and were hooked. To say that we loved their Puffy Pancake would be an understatement. Unfortunately, the puffy pancake won’t be on Saturday’s menu (I asked). Their menu will consist of a smoked rib plate + sides and drinks! Their menu is posted here.

For the family and for the socially-Distanced Space…
Star Provisions
West Midtown on 10/31 from 8am - 5pm
Kids rejoice! Star Provisions is giving out free Halloween-themed cookies to kids (as long as supplies last). And while you are at it, grab some food too!
They have plenty of outdoor seating for social distancing and a large parking lot if you prefer to eat in your car.

The Works
Upper Westside on 10/31 from 12pm - 6pm
The Works, a 27 acre mixed-use property, and their food hall, Chattahoochee Food Works, are hosting a “spooky-fun” day with food, drinks, music and more. Although many of the food tenants haven’t officially opened yet, they will be previewing their menu like one of my new favorite Thai spots Tyde Tate Kitchen!
Things to know…
- Tickets are required at $5 per person to allow for social distancing.
- The property is over 27 acres so there is a lot of space to spread out.
- There are special activities for children from 12 - 3pm and all ages are allowed from 12pm - 6pm.
