ABOUT
Bon Ton’s menu is what people would probably categorize as Viet-Cajun (I first heard this term on an episode of David Chang’s Ugly Delicious), a fusion of Vietnamese and New Orleans Cajun cuisine. The menu is centered on seafood boils (in other words be prepared to get your hands dirty) but they also have alternative seafood options if that’s not your thing. There are some vegetarian gems like the falafel sandwich and papaya salad that are good alternatives!
I’ve been for both brunch and dinner. The menu is largely the same although Bon Ton has some special menu items for brunch. It can be a bit loud at times because they have an in-house DJ, but it’s tolerable. The space isn’t huge, so I wouldn’t go with a large group. One time, we had eight people and ended up having to wait 45 minutes past our reservation time and then ended up being seated in back to back booths.
Don’t forget to take a picture of the neon “Fancy Service” sign or pose outside in front of the building’s pink exterior.
