ABOUT

To say we are obsessed with this place would be an understatement. We live right around the corner from Beetlecat, so go there pretty often. It’s also one of the places that I always take out of town guests. It has the best location in the heart of Inman Park, amazing vibe/decor, lots of natural light, small plates - making it great for sharing and big enough for groups.

Beetlecat gets its name from a sailboat, which is why the entire restaurant is decorated in a nautical theme. It’s also the little sister to The Optimist making Beetlecat a more affordable and casual take on seafood. I’m the kind of person that likes to share entrees. I actually don’t understand when people want their own dish (sorry if that’s you). So Beetlecat is perfect for people who like to share. It’s also a great spot for late night bites on the weekend.

I have yet to try their donut brunch, but hope to soon. I’m just never in the mood to have a donut-focused brunch (but don’t worry there are savory items too).

WHAT TO ORDER

For a party of two, I would recommend 1-2 starters, 1 - 2 entrees , & 1 dessert. Please note that the menu changes often. A lot of the proteins stay the same but the way they are prepared changes often. My favorites include:

  • Starters: Any of the Crudos & Oysters

  • Entrees: Moqueca Stew, Whole Branzino & Chicken Wings (trust me they are good)

  • Dessert: Coconut Pie

I haven’t tried many of the late night items, but think spicy waffle fries, chicken wings, burgers & lobster rolls.
