Atlanta Quarantine Eats Week 6
Welcome to Week 6 (7/24 - 7/26) of Quarantine Eats.
Nizar (my husband) and I have yet to dine in at a restaurant since the beginning of quarantine. We are exclusively team takeout! The goal of this series is to hopefully inspire some of you to try a new spot, support a restaurant impacted by Covid-19, support a black-owned business, or just try some darn good food! If you’ve been following along, thank you! If you would like to see something else or have any (constructive) feedback shoot me a DM on Instagram or head to the About page and send me a note.

Dinner
You all know I love Pizza Jeans! I’m always shocked when people don’t know about it. I won’t get into too much detail since I wrote about them in Quarantine Eats Week 3, but I loved their special pie this past weekend - heirloom tomatoes & balsamic vinegar, yes, please!!!
Also, something that I didn’t mention last time is their cookies. As you may know, Pizza Jeans is a concept created by Root Baking Co. (“RBC”) and when you order Pizza Jeans you can add on a box of cookies from RBC. The cookie box included two chocolate chip cookies, two flourless chocolate shortbread cookies and two ginger molasses cookies. Pre-Covid, the two chocolate cookies were offered in monster sizes (like bigger than your face), but now can be enjoyed in a more manageable size.
Ordering: Order via the Toast website or app Fridays & Saturdays and pick-up curbside only in the PCM parking lot.
ZdApproved Eats: Red Pie + Calabrian Chilis & Roasted Garlic and Box of Cookies

Goodness Graceous these pastries were phenomenal! Grace is the talented baker behind Goodness Graceous. She has been with Little Tart Bakeshop for almost three years but also sells her pastries at Aurora Coffee on Saturdays and for front porch delivery 2 - 4 times a month. I thought the Aurora pastry deliveries came out of the pandemic, but it turns out Grace has been offering hand pies at Aurora Coffee for almost a year but has definitely gained more popularity this summer (and for good reason)! These pastries were next-level good.
The pastry options change weekly and are inspired by seasonal ingredients. Grace mentioned that she uses the same all-butter crust for her hand pies but rotates the fruit seasonally. We scored a peach and blueberry hand-pie. The hand-pie was flakey, not too sweet, and I loved the addition of the sugar crust. We also got a cherry tomato herb scone with mozzarella. We almost debated walking back to get more, but will try again another Saturday! I’ve been seeing some amazing bagels on her Instagram page, so I have my eyes on that next! And FYI, we got our pastries around 9 am, but apparently they sell out earlier than that sometimes!
Grace loves baking the old-fashioned way - all from scratch and to quote her “The highest compliment I could receive would probably be one from someone’s grandma.” I’m no grandma, but it was definitely #zdapproved!
Ordering: Follow on Instagram to see what’s available at Aurora on Saturdays. You have to order inside but payment is contactless. You can ask the barista to touch the screen for you.

Bomb Biscuits strikes again…this time in collaboration with Pit-master Bryan Furman of B’s Cracklin BBQ. If you read Quarantine Eats Week 2, then you’ll know about the amazing biscuit delivery service by Erika Council. But now she’s taken it up a notch and is back to throwing pop-ups around Atlanta. This past weekend, Erika and Bryan’s teams partnered up to make some delicious biscuit and brisket sandwiches for pick-up in Summerhill. I really enjoyed the brisket and really should check out B’s Cracklin BBQ’s spot in the new Kroger across from Ponce City Market.
Bomb Biscuits is doing another pop-up this Saturday, August 1st, and it looks like they still have a few items available for pick-up! Also, pro-tip sign up for their email newsletters so that you can be notified of orders a few minutes before it goes up on Instagram!
Ordering: Order here via their website.
ZdApproved Eats: Regular Buttermilk Biscuits
Dinner
A rainy Saturday night made us crave some of my favorite ramen in Atlanta, Okiboru. Located in Sandy Springs, Okiboru has an assortment of ramen for all dietary types (pork broth, seafood broth & veggie broth). Okiboru hails from LA and in addition to the ramen we ordered is also known for their Tsukemen (dipping ramen - cold noodles dipped in hot broth), which I have yet to try.
The ramen bowls come standard with thin noodles, but I would highly recommend upgrading to the medium or thick noodles. One thing I really appreciated is that you could choose to boil the noodles yourself at home. I had a friend who ordered it with the noodles pre-cooked and said the taste was off, so keep that in mind! I found the Truffle Chintan ramen to be a tad salty this time, but really enjoyed the Yasai Ramen with a side of chili sauce. I would avoid getting the Spicy Yasai Ramen so that you can control the spice level.
Ordering: Order online via their website and select curbside pick-up. Pull up to the alleyway in the back (in front of the retail parking lot) and give them a call. There’s a sign for where to stand/park. They bring it very quickly after calling!
ZdApproved Eats: Truffle Chintan Ramen with medium noodles, Yasai Ramen (vegetarian) with medium noodles with a side of chili sauce, Ebi Karaage (panko fried shrimp), and Pickled Cucumbers

coffee
I don’t make it to Bellwood nearly as much as I would like. But thank you Covid-19 for bringing Bellwood to my front door! Hands down, Bellwood makes the best Vegan Horchata Lattes (The Ezra) in all of Atlanta. And their Masala Chai Latte (Barack on the Rocks) is a close second. They now offer 32 oz bottles for free delivery (in certain zip codes) but can also be added to Fresh Harvest orders or picked up directly from their store.
Bellwood roasts their own coffee and the few times I’ve been, Bellwood’s specialty drinks have been really unique and delicious. FYI - we had already ordered ahead on Cloosiv and didn’t see it available on the menu, but if you walk-up and order, 100% of profits for “The Ahmaud” go to the Equal Justice Initiative and it sounds delicious! Also, I can’t wait until this pandemic is over so I can go back to drinking their coffee in pretty antique mugs (see picture below).
Ordering: Order ahead on the Cloosiv app (an app designed solely for coffee pick-ups) or pay in person at their walk-up cart (contactless).
ZdApproved Eats: French Lavender Vanilla Latte, The Ezra (Vegan Horchata) and the Barack on the Rocks (Masala Chai Latte)
lunch
We were really craving a sandwich at 2:30 pm on Sunday and Noni’s Deli popped into my mind. I haven’t dined in at Noni’s since 2018, but I have ordered delivery from them several times. Located on Edgewood Avenue, they recently opened back up for take-out or patio dining. While I usually gravitate towards their pasta, the Vegan Muff (+ house-made mozzarella) hit the spot. I really enjoyed the focaccia! And you can’t go to Noni’s and not get their fries, they are some of my favorites!
Ordering: Call 404-343-1808 to place your order and pay in person. Payment is not contactless, but they sanitize each pen between use, but you can always bring your own.
ZD’s Favorite Eats: Vegan Muff (+ mozzarella), Basil pesto with Homemade Tagliatelle, Fried Chicken Cutlets and Garlic Fries
